Abstract Background This review of relevant medicinal plants is based on the fundamental knowledge accumulated by indigenous people Ethiopia and to identify which types selected for phytochemical analysis were analyzed one not at Ethiopian levels. In this review, most traditional plant species found used in are chosen. Results The qualitative analysis, some important phytochemicals such as phenolic, tannins, alkaloids, saponins, cardiac glycosides, steroids, terpenoids, flavonoids, phlobatannins, anthraquinones, reducing sugars studied researcher. Most studies have revealed that present while absent. properties like Artemisia afra (Ariti), Aloe Vera (Erret), Yzygium guineense (Dokuma), Ruta chalepensis (Tenadam), Ocimum grattissimum (Damakese), Nigella sativa (Tikur Azmud), Lepidium sativum (Feto), Hagenia abyssinica (Kosso), Croton macrostachyus (Bisana), Rhamnus prinoides (Gesho). Conclusions has shown whose various purposes treating mastitis, preventing boils, hemorrhoids, congestion, headache, hepatitis, liver, vertigo, stomatitis, kidneys, vision anemia, hemorrhoid coughs, fluxes, stomatitis animals human beings.
